The compelling and evocative account of Norman Clements, Royal Irish Fusilier, following his time on the frontline during WW2 and his attempts to reconnect with family on returning. Norman’s journey is scripted with original score by his grandson Richard Clements who also performs and directed by Matthew McElhinney.

The show was performed at the Lyric Theatre in 2022 to great acclaim, receiving a nomination for Best New Play at the UK Theatre Awards. It then travelled to the Pleasance Theatre as part of Edinburgh Fringe 23 where it was nominated for a Mental Health Foundation Fringe Award. Across both runs, the show benefited from significant collaboration from Northern Ireland Screen’s Digital Film Archive, incorporating their archival content within the show and including footage from the Imperial War Museum, as well as video design/PR support from the NI War Memorial Museum.
